DRONES are flying off the shelves with sales up 786% year-on-year, according to the latest sales stats at Currys PC World.
Once seen as a bit of a novelty purchase, Currys PC World is attributing the rapid rise in sales to drones officially hitting the mainstream. With advancements in technology, Brits are increasingly using the sky-high gadgets to capture high-quality image and video content of everything from weddings to holidays.
What’s more, with the sun properly out to shine over the weekend, it seems the nation was out and about making the most of the weather with sales up 116% in the last week alone.
With the popularity set to soar to new heights, Currys PC World has just launched an additional two products to add to its extensive range – the highly-anticipated GoPro Karma Drone and the GoPro Karma Light Drone.*
Henrik Schmidt, Camera Category Manager at Currys PC World, says: “The popularity of drones as a serious piece of photography kit means we’re now seeing them fly off the shelves. With GoPro now entering the market with a machine custom-made to fit their popular range of action cams, the mainstream beckons for aerial photography.”
